Ciao Surveys gathers information in different ways. Some personal information is
collected when you register. When registering you are asked by Ciao Surveys for
your name, your email address and other personal details. As soon as you
have registered, you get a Ciao Surveys ID and are in the position to use all the
services of Ciao Surveys and take part in the surveys it operates. You may disclose
personal information on subsequent occasions, e.g. in questionnaires or in
correspondence with us. Whenever Ciao Surveys gathers personal information we will
always explain the reason for the particular use of data and ask you to read
the current Data Protection Statement on this page. Please note that you can
withdraw your consent to data processing anytime with immediate effect. |

2. How does Ciao Surveys use my information?
|
Ciao Surveys is commissioned to carry out surveys by market research institutes,
manufacturers and retailers. The information obtained in such surveys is
handled in strict confidence, and transmitted to our clients in aggregate
form. Member IDs are replaced by unique identifying codes, for which only
Ciao Surveys knows the corresponding members’ names. Ciao Surveys additionally carries out
internal research into the demography, interests and behaviour of our members.
We do this in order to understand our users better and to be able to offer
you a better service. This research is also assembled and analyzed in
aggregate form. |

3. To whom does Ciao Surveys pass on my information?
|
As a matter of principle, Ciao Surveys does not publish any personal information
about you if you have not given your explicit approval for us to do so,
unless we are obliged to do so by law. Any information which you provide
in the surveys operated by Ciao Surveys is disclosed voluntarily; your agreement
for this information to be passed on, in an anonymous form, to its clients
for the purposes of market research is a prerequisite of registration. |

4. How do the Ciao Surveys guidelines apply if I update, correct or delete the personal information contained in my user profile?
|
You may update your Ciao Surveys account information at any time using your
Ciao Surveys ID and password. You can also delete or deactivate your Ciao Surveys
account - to do this please go to "Edit My Account" and click on "Edit Membership".
However, after such deletion or deactivation you cannot access any part of
the Ciao Surveys website which is reserved to Ciao Surveys members. |

5. What safety measures are taken to protect my information from loss, misuse or change?
|
Your Ciao Surveys account information and Ciao Surveys profile are password-protected
so that only you have access to this personal information. You can
access and update your Ciao Surveys account information and your Ciao Surveys profile
using your Ciao Surveys ID and password. We stress that you must not give away
your password to anyone. Ciao Surveys never asks for your password in unexpected
emails or in emails which you have not requested. Remember to sign out
of your account and to close the browser window when you have finished
your work. This is currently the most secure way of ensuring that nobody
can access your personal information and correspondence when using a
shared or public computer, e.g. in libraries or cyber cafes. As soon as
we have received your data transmission we endeavour to ensure the safety
of your data contained in our systems. |

6. What protection does Ciao Surveys offer against web crawlers and spam?
|
Ciao Surveys guarantees that it will only use your email address with your active
consent for the purposes stated in the
Terms and Conditions of membership.
We will not sell your email address on to any third parties and, as far as
it is in our power to do so, we will prevent your email address from being
”harvested” by web ”crawlers” or ”spiders”. Should you believe that your
email address has been harvested in this way, please let our technical
support team know without delay. Should a member be found to be spamming
in order to generate referrals, his/her membership will be revoked, (s)he
will be disqualified from receiving any payments from Ciao Surveys (including payments
for participation in surveys by his/her invitees as well as his/her own
participation), and (s)he will be permanently prohibited from participating
in any way with Ciao Surveys. |

7. Sharing of data within the group.
|
Ciao Surveys is part of the Greenfield Online Inc. Group. You consent to your data being shared within the group and within the Ciao Surveys group. We guarantee that if your data is shared in this way, the security and confidentiality of your data will not be affected and that your data will remain subject to these privacy guidelines. |
